Market Highlights for November 2018

Seasons greetings from Whistler... where the lights are up and the snow has finally arrived!    Here is the summary of the Whistler and Squamish Market for the month of November:

The excitement of Christmas is in the air and this latest storm system has dumped some much-needed snow on the hills.
The resort is starting to buzz with returning holiday-home owners, tourists, seasonal workers, Vancouverites and locals shuffling around the village in snow-boots or with skis lodged over shoulders.

Market activity, although strong, is not nearly at the level we were witnessing at the height of the market in 2016 and 2017.  Nevertheless, sales in Whistler and Squamish are still moving along nicely and if anything, have returned to historically 'normal' levels.    Correspondingly, Metro Vancouver home sales are down across all property types, with home buyer demand remaining below long-term averages in the Metro Vancouver housing market.

Looking ahead to 2019 we are expecting current market trends to continue which means that properties that are unique or well priced will attain strong buyer interest over others.  If you are wondering what your home is worth, or would like to be kept updated on market trends, contact me as I would be pleased to discuss the current market, your real estate goals or conduct a free appraisal of your home, with no obligation.
